After a few chilly days last week, we are happy the sun is shining again because we’ve got a lot more growing to do! This is an exciting week for us since we’ll be doing our final nursery seedings for the year. Ally will be seeding spinach, kale, swiss chard and lettuce that will be planted in the tunnels in about a month. These will be for the winter farmers market at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall that goes from November to March and we expect to have fresh greens until the end of December.
Last week we pulled up our storage onions and they are now curing in the nursery. We planted a yellow and a pink variety and they are huge!

We also got our first WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) volunteer this week. Benjamin is from Milwaukee and he’ll be learning how to grow an organic market garden with our guidance. Having an extra pair of hands on the farm is just awesome and Benjamin is really taking it all in.

The green beans are back on and the bell peppers are looking beautiful so we’re excited to share them with the CSA this week. The tomatoes are going strong and we expect to have a lot at the farmers market again this weekend.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!
